4Sight – Virtual reality in spatial planning

Environmental communication is a vital part of spatial planning. Due to growing involvement in the environment in which people live, transparency and participation are key to ensure support and understanding of the  planning process.

How can we make spatial planning processes faster and easier to understand? By showing unambiguously what the plans are, stakeholders will get a clear view of the process of spatial planning. 4Sight offers this support, both by providing advice and by using high-quality stills, images, animated movies and interactive 3D and 4D models.

4Sight’s 3D and 4D models allow the user to move through the entire created virtual reality. The interface 4Sight uses is the virtual reality software package EyeD, which they created in-house. EyeD uses the same visualization techniques as those used in the gaming industry. It is also possible to connect the virtual reality software to traffic engineering models, so that current and future traffic streams can be described in a more realistic way.
